WISE cryostat secondary tank aluminum foam. This image shows the aluminum foam which is mounted inside the cryostat hydrogen tanks and acts as a heat diffuser. This set of foam is for the larger secondary tank of the WISE cryostat. The secondary tank cools the WISE optics and HgCdTe detectors. The smaller primary tank (not shown) cools the Si:As detectors.
