Dec. 14, 2010 – WISE One Year Later – Today is the one-year anniversary of the launch of WISE. In that year, WISE has observed the entire sky in 4 infrared wavelengths, and seen nearly 93% of the sky twice in the two shortest wavelengths. WISE has discovered asteroids, stars, and galaxies never seen before. Go WISE!

Dec. 12, 2010 – Goodbye to a WISE Team Member – With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to WISE team member Mark Larsen, who died today after a long struggle with brain cancer. An asteroid observed by WISE has been renamed in his honor with the following dedication: (243516) Marklarsen = 2010 CC7, Discovered 2010 Feb. 6 by WISE, As the senior scientist at the Space Dynamics Laboratory at Utah State University, Mark Larson (b. 1962) has been responsible for the camera aboard the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) spacecraft. His work has been seminal to the success of the mission.

Dec. 9, 2010 – WISE: Focus on Infinity – The WISE team is searching through the telescope's two million images to spot never before seen objects. Read more.

Oct. 4, 2010 – WISE Warms Up But Keeps Chugging Along – Although WISE has 'warmed up,' NASA has decided the mission will still continue. WISE will now focus on our nearest neighbors -- the asteroids and comets traveling together with our solar system's planets around the Sun. Read more.
